The Chinese Journal of International Politics (CJIP) Approved As New Journal

Recently, State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) approved 43 new journals including The Chinese Journal of International Politics (CJIP).

Sponsored by the Institute of International Relations, Tsinghua University (THU) and published by Social Sciences Academic Press (China) (sometimes also by Peking University Press), CJIP is a scholarly publication aiming at politics and international relations. The journal is committed to publishing empirical study achievements in terms of international security, foreign policies and global governance. It started publication in January, 2005, with Prof. Yan Xuetong, Dean of THU Institute of International Relations  serving as a chief editor.

Over the past decade, CJIP has all along been published in the form of book instead of periodical. As for editing work, the journal adopts anonymous review system by peer experts at home and abroad. Though not approved as a journal formerly, it has enjoyed a high reputation in the circle of international relations. In 2011, the journal became one of the CSSCI sources and thus was classified as A-level or important periodicals by some ky universities and research institutes.

In August, 2006, the English version of CJIP was officially released by Oxford University Press. In 2012, CJIP became a cited journal of SSCI. In 2015, the journal’s impact factor reached to 1.3.
